The plague doctor, a lively ghost amongst the ashes of civilization, conjured up false cures during the bubonic plague. Hiding behind their masks, these doctors where often untrained, and unprepared for the horrors they would face. Their long breaks, filled with aromatics, were said to protect them from the supposedly air borne illness. Was this doctor’s fatal mistake taking off her mask, or does the true cause lie in what is a much deeper, darker explanation?
